High above Big Laurel Creek is the popular overlook and camping spot called Martha's Pretty Point. Here you can enjoy a wide angle view down the Caney Fork gorge, over forests that have not been clear cut for years. Whoever Martha was, she sure had fine taste in views! | |
Below the point, the trail descends the bluff face via a steep ladder and leaps down the mountain amid forests of maple, oak, beech, and cedar, to rejoin the lower portion of the loop trail a little ways before it reaches Big Laurel Falls. |
